What are the odds...

...that someone, somewhere, complains that Francona should've taken Papelbon out after he gave up the double? I honestly think it's going to happen.

  1. But the alternative? And the unfortunate soul who toes the rubber after Paps' departure. I wouldn't wish that on ANYONE.

  2. Okay, so far I haven't found anyone to actually suggest that, thankfully. (For some reason after a horrible loss like that, I get pissed off at the people who blame the wrong people. This 4-game losing streak has almost nothing to do with Francona, and everything to do with horrible baseball.)

This quote, from the Globe, is scary:
"Sweeney said the Royals have had good scouting reports on Papelbon, and know his tendencies a little bit better."

  3. His tendancy seems to be throw a ton of 97 mph fastballs. doesn't take a genius to scout that. then again, kc scouts can't claim too much success since 2003.

  4. Javy Lopez can't catch anything except fastballs...and he seems to have problems doing that...kind of sets up the youngsters to fail.

  5. Yeah, he's pretty worthless. This is pretty ridiculous: check out 2003.
