There must be something about Toronto. Before Gibbons (actually a couple of managers ago), they had that guy that told all his players he was a Vietnam viet and told all these combat stories, but as it turned out he was never really in the army or in Vietnam.
At least if Carl Everett wants to get into managing, we can be pretty sure he will end up in Toronto.
Short term memory loss would be very good right now.
From mlb.com:
If the Red Sox do wind up placing Gonzalez on the DL, they'd be all but certain to recall their top positional prospect from Triple-A Pawtucket -- diminutive middle infielder Dustin Pedroia.
Diminutive? Very nice. When I first read Earl's post, I thought they had raised the white flag by calling up their prospect, but I guess Gonzalez is really hurt.
Seriously. Puts a whole new spin on the Hillenbrand thing, huh...

This brings up an interesting question, who's the craziest manager of all-time? Or maybe we can limit it to the "modern" era?
ReplyDeleteAnd on another note, I am very envious of the guy from Memento right about now.

This has been an odd season to say the least. Watch the Sox sweep the Angels this week and get our hopes up.
