DiNardo vs. Halladay

So that, uh, worked out well. Brace yourself for all the "Shoulda kept Arroyo" comments tomorrow.

Update: too late. Turns out some Sox fans held "Bring Back Arroyo" signs at yesterday's game. Sigh.

  1. No kidding. Because, of course, Arroyo would have shut out the Jays for 8 innings and Saenez would have come in and K'd the side in the ninth for 1-0 Sox win.

  2. Ha ha ha.....we have to learn to live with what we can't rise above. After all, it's April, and the Jays are a good team. But DiNardo is not major league stuff. So sorry Len.

  3. Yep. A rough outing certainly proves DiNardo isn't cut out for it. Never mind the record of success as a reliever and starter before that, or the minor league success. Guy can't cut it. Know who else blows? That Beckett guy.

  4. Andrew, I was basing my comment on BOTH of his outings this year....lifeless stuff that begs to be creamed. It's just that the Jays did a better job. Surely he looks hittable to you, no? It's so obvious.

  5. Everyone's hittable. It's a question of whether they're being hit. DiNardo was in his second outing, yes. In his first start, he went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. From a last-minute fill in? I'll certainly take that. In fact, up until that game the other day, over 10.1 IP DiNardo had an ERA of under 3.5 and an extremely impressive 19-6 GB/FB ratio, which is exactly where he needs to be to be successful. So, what did you see wrong in his other appearances?
