Unbelievable
Not sure if you guys saw this video of the Delmon Young incident. When I first heard the story, I thought "oh he flipped his bat at the ump." No freakin way - he threw it at the ump. and threw it hard. They talk about 30 days that Rose got for shoving Vallone. Knowing that minor leaguers always get dealt with more severly, I say he is looking at a minimum of 60 days, if not 90 or even giving him an Artest rest of year. And if that happens (rest of year suspension), I look for the D-Rays to do something really stupid later this summer, like try to call him up.

Wow. Can you imagine being the Devil Rays FO? Have their top prospect - basically the center of your plan for the future (to the extent that they have a plan, though there's some evidence that they do) - turn out to be a headcase? Has to be disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThis game sucks big donkey balls.
ReplyDeleteIf we lose today, we go 0-3 against decent teams.
That will make it harder to argue that this team is not a .500 club as currently constituted.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap. Ben Broussard thinks he's Barry Bonds.
ReplyDeleteSo do you get Beckett out of the game when he clearly does not have A game?
ReplyDeleteUm, now you do...
ReplyDeleteNow everyone's going to complain about Francona's slow hook. Even if the Sox lose by 8.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I guess Victor Martinez took care of that decision.
ReplyDeleteSo was Beckett too fired up for the game.
The CLE announcer just had a stroke for sure.
Hye but maybe they'll score two runs.
ReplyDeleteMy thinking on getting him out of there was more for his long term health than trying to save this game. Then again with Clement and DiNardo going in the next two games, I wonder if Tito was trying to not have the bullpen need to pitch 4+ innings.
One thing to note from last night was that Delcarmen looked pretty decent. He did give up four hits, but 3 of them were bloops to RF and he was consistently hitting 96 on the gun. So I will do what Yankee fans say all the time about Rivera - sure the results last night weren't good, but its because his stuff is SO nasty.
This is an epic battle between Cora and Byrd...
