  2. Why aren't they reading this blog? They should extend this inning as long as possible.

  3. Unbelievable - two of the three outs on first pitches.

  4. FOUR RUNS WALKED IN. I've never seen that.

    Coco swinging? WTF?!?!?

  5. I guess they figure the guy is struggling and he might groove a first pitch fastball. Like happened with Tek on opening day. Well they got 4 so that is a good start.

  6. Given how asleep Perlozzo and Mazzone were (must've been all those z's), no bats should've left their shoulders.

Yes, we're up by 5, but a we'll be seeing a new pitcher next inning, and Clement is a huge question mark.

This may be the angriest I've ever been after an inning where the Sox score 5.

  7. Why can't I count? 3, not 4. 4, not 5.

  8. Cabrera's back! Well, you gotta hand it to the zzz's, they're working on their pitcher's confidence...

    ...or destroying it.

  9. Well, I was certainly right to be freaked out that the 4 first inning runs weren't enough to win the game. We needed 5 more.

But: good use of Foulke there. That was seriously the best inning he's pitched in over a year. Ten pitches, 9 for strikes.

  10. More thoughts:

If we were that far ahead, why not bring in Riske? Is he already basically off the roster?

He couldn't have done much worse than Seanez: 4 earned runs in 6 pitches? Awesome.

  11. Yeah seemed like the perfect night to get an inning for Riske, one for Seanez and one for Foulke. But I guess even though Clement struggled in the 7th he had been cruising along.

Either way Timlin, Papelbon and Dinardo are rested for tomorrow and Sunday.

The Yanks are struggling. That's too bad.

  12. Late night quibbles. Other than Rudy, we were and are fine. And Foulkie looked damn good. Schill today. Need I say more??
