Baseball at 8am

For those of us on the West Coast. Weird, but great.

  1. Dinardo wasting no time getting into a small jam. I'd like to see him get out of it. Of course I am watching gamecast so it's probably the 5th inning by now.

  2. Yup, it's the 5th inning. So you don't know about the two unassisted triple plays, and the naked parachuter landing on the field? Just you wait.

  3. That naked LADY parachuter landed on my lap! Seriously, we need runs, just because Lenny doesn't have the umph or the location to fool these guys for long. But Papi? Yes! And good morning to you left coast people...enjoy.

  4. Looks lie Dinardo isn't exactly fooling anyone.

  5. Considering Meche K's one guy for each guy he walks, it was nice to see him K two Sox in the first.

    WTF?

  6. Cora! That was maybe the wimpiest double I've ever seen.

  7. I'll take a double play!!! Who needs offense when you have defense ;-)

  8. Dude, what are you on? I want some!

  9. Not sure what it is. Maybe I made my tea extra strong this morning.

    Papi NOOOOOO! So sad.

  10. Why is that surprising? So far this season we've faced Cy Piniero, Cy Moyer, Cy Washburn, Cy Loe, Cy Chen...

  11. Cy Meche is right... Argh... I might be getting a very different perspective from game cast, but it seems that we're chasing a lot of balls out of the zone.

  12. DiNardo is out. And did a decent job.

This will be the first Sox game of the year that the bullpen gets a decision (for either the Sox or their opponent).

  13. Wow, good bit of trivia.

Here's another one: the Yanks are 6-0 when they score 9 runs or more, 0-6 when they don't. It's like the 2005 Sox, only more so.

  14. Ugh - there we go. I knew those 2 K's by Rudy were too good to be true.

  15. Carl LUVS Kenji! I am not cheering, but I just have to that's a bit funny.

  16. The trouble with that Yankee Stat is that they have not scored 5, 6,7, or 8 runs.

But yes it is still funny to say they can't win unless they score 9 or more runs.

  17. Big PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPI! God I love that man.

  18. GIDP. This team does that a lot, huh.

  19. I think Lowell's double play was Wily Mo Pena's fault.

  20. That's awesome. I'm pretty sure you're right. And of course, if we hadn't traded Arroyo for Pena, no way Bloomquist scores on that Ichiro groundout.

  21. We should keep a running list of all the things that are Wily Mo Pena's fault, and that wouldn't have happened if Arrouo were still around.

  22. From the NESN feed:

    Boston Red Sox
Won 17 straight 1 run games

I hate shit like that. So the implication is that if they give up a couple more runs, they preserve their awesome streak.

  23. DAMMIT! Again, it's Wily Mo's fault:i if Wily Mo were there instead of Ichiro, that was a home run.

  24. I think the Sox should try to score LESS runs.

Sox score 3 or less runs: 4-1
Sox score 4 or more: 4-3 (4-4 if they lose today).

  25. Holy crap - Shelton just hit ANOTHER HR.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good call.

And nice 2 out hits by Nixon and Tek.

  27. Shelton is a beast. And I thought Thome was an awesome fantasy pickup.

  28. The harball times had an article on how Tito's insistence on using Millar and Olerud last year (instead of Patagine) cost the Sox the AL East.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm a big fan of Tito, but yeah, the Petagine thing makes no sense to me.

Hey look, Timlin only let one of two inherited runners to score.

  30. Youk prolongs the game...Come on, Loretta!

  31. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  32. Best win of the season, easily.

  33. Get back, Loretta. And back back back!!

  34. I can't believe I missed the last part of that game! Unbelievable! Youk did a great job table setting.
