To win the East...

...the Sox have to win three of the next four games. The Yanks have to win only two of the next four. So basically, tonight we watch Game 2 of a 5-game series between the Red Sox and the Yankees. Yanks took Game 1 (the first 159 games of the season), barely. So we're 0-1 in a 5-game series. Big deal -- the Sox can do this. Who the hell cares what the Indians do.

Win tonight.

  1. Yes, win tonight and then it is even...First team to two *(after tonight's game) wins...

And, sort of yes, don't worry about the Indians. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if Guillen doesn't throw his three games just so the Sox or Yankees don't get in to the playoffs...I could definitely see that. Because I can't stand the guy mostly...and because he probably doesn't want his pitching facing the Sox or Yankees lineup at this point.

It is cold in Boston right now and getting colder...Hopefully Wells gets through tonight and the cold causes back spasms in Giambi (and Johnson tomorrow)...
