Waived goodbye

A long time coming, but it finally happened. Best of luck, Tony.

  1. He must feel unwanted, awful. I liked him a lot, but this is the best for him.

  2. Yeah, this one was pretty obvious for the last month. I don't know if he feels unwanted, he's probably panicing a bit - he thought he had a $2.0 Million salary (almost double his highest salary ever).

I imagine the Mets will pick him up eventually. He'll get his $500K severance. And some team will pick him up for $500K, so he'll end up with the same $1 MM he has made the last couple years. I did hear one quote that he does not know why the Sox offered him arbitration (obviously they thought they would get the draft pick or be able to trade him), but T-Graf also knew he'd get a big raise - he could have declined or signed a lesser contract that would have been guaranteed.

    Regardless - good luck Tony.
