  1. There's some contact - Schilling (barely) hits the leadoff man. BOOOO

  2. Uh oh, small defensive fuckup...first in a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  3. ...and Rockies take advantage will a Helton groundout. 1-0 rockies.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ubaldo goes through the first 3 batters in order. Something we haven't seen in a while. But the balls were all well hit, which is good.

  5. Tulowiski chases a splitter for Schill's first K

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sox get their first baserunner- JD Drew hit-by-pitch. One on, two outs. Cmon Tek.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Weak grounder to Third. Nice play by Atkins - 2 outs. JD is a BAD ASS. Varitek strikes out. At least we broke up the perfect game.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Fox informs us that Jason Varitek listens to Dave Matthews Band and Bare Naked Ladies. I really don't know what to think about that. It makes me sort of sad, I guess.

And he strikes out. Serves him right.

  9. IBID! Good to see you.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Daisy likes the Bare Naked Ladies and Dave Matthews and she didn't strike out.

oh wait... sorry about that. Good to be here Earl. Grounder to Lowell 1 down.

  11. Striking throwing machine!!! 0-2

  12. "Two pitchers who throw the fastball differently"

Ah.. McCarver... so glad you're back.

    Jacoby... weak grounder.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Lugo... weak grounder :-(

    Come on Dustin!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ortiz to the plate with two on...Cmon...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yuck. Well, they're beginning to work the count at least.

    ReplyDelete
  16. "Short stroke for a big guy" "He's 6'3" with a short stroke"

    ReplyDelete
  17. Holliday followed by a deep and two shallow pop ups.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I can't write... I need another beer.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What a slide by lowell.... Drew is still a bad ass... Varitek makes CONTACT...

    Tie game.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Drew with a hit, finally. 2 on, one out.

Ooh, a beer sound nice right now.

    TIE GAME!!!

  21. FREE TACOS FOR AMERICA

    Thanks Jacoby!

  22. Another shot from Youk. But Taveras tracks it down.

  23. I just found out that they're carrying the WS on TV here in Israel. I was all excited for a moment, before turning on the sound and hearing Rick Sutcliffe's voice. God that man is terrible. WOrse than McCarver, possibly.

    Cmon Manny.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "he can strike like a cobra in a basket"

Good cut by Manny... Again we learn that Manny is not phased by any count.

    Base hit!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Let's compare quotables...

    Cmon MIKIE

    ReplyDelete
  26. YES

I love that manny's nearly out at third.

    ReplyDelete
  27. By the way, Earl do you sleep? YOu're in Israel?!

Oh.. that's it for Jimenez!!! Didn't we kill this guy Affeldt when he was a Royal?

    ReplyDelete
  28. No, I don't sleep, and it's bad. Hard to get any work done.

And again the starter can't make it through 5. Their bullpen's going to be mighty tired if this keeps up.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 20.1 innings 7 ER 27 Hits... Let's get to him!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Of course that previous post makes not sense, because this is Drew's first year as a Sox.

    I love fun with Stats!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Baseball Prospectus 2007 on Herges: Herges is the chain restaurant of the relief pitcher world. There are loads of pitchers just like him, he doesn't do any on thing particularly well, and teams always wind up settling for him rather than intentionally seeking him out.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Varitek makes contact. Pop up to left, Holliday handles it easily to end the inning.

    ReplyDelete
  33. My hotel room just lost power - not a good sign.

    ReplyDelete
  34. must get tacos from taco bell...how annoying is that promotion???

    ReplyDelete
  35. 2 on, Schilling done. Pretty quick hook. But better than a late one...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Your hotel lost power? Where are you in Israel?

    Cmon Okijima!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Earl can I have your taco if you're not back by October 30th?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes. As Royce Clayton said, you can have as many tacos as you want - just keep going to different taco bells.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Troy Aikman is a Sox fan? What the?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Schilling at the top of the steps to greet Okijima. I am sad. I can't see the direct TV blimp from my house. Although I did see it arrive :-)

Oh and the f-whatever-ubiquitos-fly-by cruised by daisy's last night and it sounded like the roof was falling in.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oops it's actually me on Daisy's computer.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yuck - still 2-1. And I'm a wreck - need some sleep (5:15 here, need to get up in 2 hours). Have a good night - go Sox!

    ReplyDelete
  43. 5 up 5 down! That's 5 batters shutdown by Oki!

    It's streach time.

    Boyz to Men?!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I guess you're stuck with me :-)

I want more beer. Is that wrong of me?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Drew with a 2 out single. Captain contact steps to the plate.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Holliday gets a hit, nearly killing Pap. Dustin made big time dive but could not come up with it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jacoby pops up to center. Lugo bunts into his knee, which happens to be in fair territory. Yes, that's an out. 2 outs changing pitcher. Dustin with a hit.

    Cmon Youk!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jacoby playing deep comes in and grabs it. 2 out!

    ReplyDelete
  49. WOW! Nice work Pap's.

Good work for Schill, Oki, and Schill. 2-1 SOX.

    Good night!

    ReplyDelete
  50. And by "Schill, Oki, and Schill" I mean "Schill, Oki, and Pap".

I didn't need that last beer.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Am I too late to be awesome?

I can't believe you didn't remark on the "Pedroia's a short guy with a looooong stroke" comment... that had me on the floor for about half an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am now awesome.

    Loved the peter* reference.

And predictions were kind of right. I said Ubo gone before end of 5 - happened but without the BB and HR.

And GR had schill allowing 5. Very close, it was 4 hits.
