Let the bone picking commence.....

  1. No bone picking, yet...

I hope Manny's back isn't really bad heading down the stretch. The one thing this team can't afford to lose is him or Ortiz from the lineup.

Also, despite all the JD Drew bashing that has been going on, I have been sticking up for the guy. But last night's eighth inning at-bat had me yelling at him. He saw 6 pitches and only waved at a slider that nearly bounced on home plate. The short porch in right field. A lights out guy on the mound (who appears to be feeling the pressure), and Rivera warming up for the ninth as you get toward the bottom of your order. You swing...you don't look for the walk. Especially since Chamberlain was throwing fastballs until he got a strike.

    There, that is my rant...

With that said, still a seven-game lead. They only have to take one in this series. Still tons of games left against the D-Rays, O's, and Blue Jays...

  2. That was about the best game the Yanks can ply. Andy is their only consistent starter. Now supposedly Joba can't pitch tonight (we'll see if Tiorre breaks the "rules").

Clemens is bound to be way too fired up to pitch effectively. And he almost for sure will hit someone in the first inning. Let's just hope the Sox make him pay. I think Clemens goes 5 and gives up 5 or 6 runs. Beckett just needs to find his groove and go.

  3. I agree with that assessment of Clemens. But...

With Kielty and Manny hurting, it looks like it might be Coco in left, Drew in CF, and Hinkse in right (or some config with those three). This could be one of those not enough depth in the lineup to make Roger pay games...

I just thank God that Wakefield isn't pitching in this series because then Cash would also be in the lineup...
