Tavarez is toast as a starter. Not sure what the alternatives are, though, at this point. Lester hasn't been lighting it up in AAA, and Bucholz isn't ready.
The offense is something else. There are too many tired bats. Youk has fizzled, Tek strikes out a lot, Lowell has calmed down, and Big Papi ain't being so big...
The bench is very weak. Poor Tim Wakefield. Every time he starts you get Mirabelli to boot.
It is starting to get a little ugly.
With KC and the ChiSox, you'd figure it would be a team to keep their lead large for another week or so. I don't want to see this lead to 6 or 5 when they face Cleveland next week...
