Opening remarks

I'm stuck with a giant deadline here at work, so for the first time since 1999, I won't be taking off work early to catch the first Red Sox game of the season. Which totally sucks. (But I'll see what I can do about the one-beer-an-inning thing.)

Anyone else catching it live? Up for a game thread?

  2. I will do my best...I, too, won't be seeing most of the game live, which bums me out (do people still say that?)...

I will chime in as much as I can...

  4. Also...Pavano...4 innings and done. D-Rays 5, Yankees 3.

Of course, the game is far from over, but I thought it was great that Pavano couldn't last.

  8. Bases loaded and Schill walks in a run... After striking out rookie of the year hopeful Alex Gordan

  9. Yikes...well, it looks like we'll get a good look at Snyder (in long relief), and the rest of the pen...lots of pitches for Schill in the first.

  10. How does Yahoo not have a picture of Alex Gordon (KC's number 5 hitter) on file?

Also, I hate mlb.tv. Blackout restrictions based on one's billing address?

  11. Tek- Weak pop out
    Crisp- Weak ground out
    Pedroia- Terrible running mistake

  12. Dustin = NOT fast... Oh well

  13. Schilling looks like he is trying to command too many pitches.

He might have to "simplify" here.

  14. Ugh. I can see it now...Shaughnessy making some snarky comment in tomorrow's paper about Schilling "thinking too much about what he'll write in his blog that evening rather than what pitch he'll throw next"...

    (...YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.)

  15. Schill looks more comfortable... But gives up a triple and a single to score a run.
