Okay, so this sort of...sucks. So much for happy baseball stories. I'd like to think the story's not true, but it's pretty big on specifics; and maybe it doesn't matter in the big picture, but it still seriously detracts from the utter awesomeness of it all.
Oh well.
On the upside, I think a 9th inning infield single, steal, and RBI single to win the game counts as "heart". Next complaint: the Red Sox have no "stomach". Who's with me? Eric? Dan?
I'm sure some poeple will not give that win credit. Probably more along the lines of "it was only the Orioles." I liked how they came back three times. although the pundits will say they should not have given the runs back.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Ankiel, I too would like to believe it is not true, but I also would like to still believe in the easter bunny.
If the Sox are playing without a lot of passion and showing no heart, I wonder what Seattle fans are saying right now. I think they have decided to not win a single game the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteProbably the most troubling thing right now is no Manny. I don't know what is worse - if Manny is really hurt or if it is anotehr MBM and he is shutting it down like last year. Either situaion is not very palatable.
ReplyDeleteAfter Cabrera hit pedroia, I would think that Francona would argue to make sure Cabrera stays IN the game. He sucsk this year. And while the bullpen of the O's has sucked as well, it would be pretty funny to pull that head game with Cabrera. Go out and argue, but then let Caberera hear you tell the umps that you want him left in the game. Get in his head a bit.
