Considering they lost something like 10 of their last 11 games at home, got swept by Wash in the final week, had their last 14 games against teams (well) below .500 and went 5-9, I would have to say "Amazin's Dis-Grace" is about perfect.
Is it pretty much guaranteed at this point that CHB will have some little comment (or maybe even a whole article) about how since the curse was reversed in 2004, that the Babe is now getting back at all the Demons that haunted the Sox in the past.
That and he will probably write one of those silly Boston vs. Orange County columns. although he probably did that recently so he will wait until CLE in the LCS.
And speaking of NY tabloids, Yankee homer George King with his optimist glasses on had this:
"By opting for the eight-day ALDS package, the Red Sox have done the Yankees a favor. Since the best-of-five Yankees-Indians ALDS will be played across seven days, the Indians can't use studs C.C. Sabathia and Fausto Carmona twice."
Okay, let's check back with George in a week or so when they Yankees have had to press Mussina or Hughes into a start.
